Golden Turmeric Hummus

An easy and delicious hummus recipe with the addition of turmeric.

Turmeric with it’s active ingredient curcumin, acts as a powerful antioxidant which has shown to support heart health, chronic pain and inflammation.

It also makes a great healthy after school snack for kids.

Turmeric Hummus

INGREDIENTS

1 x 400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed

3 -4 garlic cloves

3 tbsp water

1 tbs lemon juice

¼ cup tahini

½ tsp ground cumin

1 tsp celtic sea salt

½  tsp ground turmeric

½ tsp sumac

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Toppings (optional)

Extra virgin olive oil

Spices such sumac, paprika or zaatar

METHOD

1. Add all the ingredients to a food processor.

2. Blend until it forms a smooth paste like consistency.

3. Scrape into a serving bowl and top with extra virgin olive oil or spices. I love adding Zaatar for an extra flavour kick.

4. Serve with crackers and veggies for dipping.
